How it Works

  Once you have selected the Razor, Brush, or Strop that you like use the messaging system on the home page or contact me via email at nick@onceuponadiamond.com with the stock # of the item.  I will reply back ASAP(in most cases within an hour) with a price including shipping.  Once the price is agreed upon I will send an invoice via PayPal.   In most cases your item will be shipped the same day as payment is received.  I ship USPS First Class or Priority Mail with tracking depending on the size.  I will  always contact you with the tracking information allowing you to shadow your item until it arrives.  

 SWEET, SUPPLE, & READY FOR USE!! If you're a collector of vintage strops or simply enjoy the feeling of stropping a straight razor on high quality leather then this beaut is for you.  It is hard to explain the wonderful feeling of a razor gliding across well prepared high end Russian leather.  This PearlDuck strop is an excellent for both the beginner and seasoned straight razor enthusiast. The heavy leather and 2 1/2" width make this strop very comfortable to strop on.  The leather is excellent quality, very supple, and has a amazingly smooth draw with great feedback.  This leather has a significant amount of thickness to it, approximately 4.5mm, which can be seen in photo #10.  The stropping action is not overly fast like many of the other older model strops. The sound produced when swiping your honed razor across the leather is equally as enjoyable.  From the top of the hanging hardware clip to the bottom handle it measures 26" in length.  It has a width of 2 1/2 inches.  It has stainless metal hardware that has been lightly polished to a gorgeous mirror finish and clearly stamped on the clasp is Germany.  It features a clip snap above a loop for easy hanging and removal and spins freely to make swapping from the leather to linen fast and simple.  There is also a large nut with notched knurling for easy removal for switching the linen sides back in forth; if one desires to past the back side of the linen with chromium oxide. The linen and leather are both in mint condition with no nicks or cuts.  I have been rubbing this strop by hand daily for the past month; the leather feels wonderful.  The back side of the leather has a cross hatched pattern making it an excellent option for applying the paste as well.  The Linen is very high quality 2-ply linen created by Hess Hair Milk Lab, out of St. Paul, Minn.  Often times lesser quality strops used single ply linen, this beauty has a seamless 2-ply strip of linen that resembles a hose and is infused with Paraffin Wax to ensure that it holds true to its shape.  Stamped in silver at the top of the linen is "THE NEW HARRINGBONE WEAVE", this linen is very flexible and soft.  The linen is weaved in a zig zag pattern, very similar to a HerringBone Necklace, making this linen extremely durable.  As far as I can tell, paste has not been applied to this strop, the backside of the leather does have a reddish tint.  I am unable to verify if this is the intended coloring or the remnants of paste.  However, if you would like to have a thin layer of Chromium Oxide(.5 Micron) paste applied to the underside of the linen or leather, I would be happy to do so at no charge to you.  The original silver stamping at the leather top and bottom handle is still in tact and visible, but lightly worn at the bottom portion of the leather where your hand holds it taught while stropping.  This will, without a doubt, make a wonderful strop, both for collecting and daily use. 

 If you're a collector of vintage strops then this beauty is a keeper.  This 44-20 strop is an excellent for both the beginner and seasoned straight razor enthusiast. The heavy leather and 2 1/2" width make this strop very comfortable to strop on.  The leather is excellent quality, very supple, and has a strong draw with great feedback.  The stropping action is very smooth, but not fast last many of the other older model strops. Detroit Razor Strops are highly sought after and very well regarded in the wet shaving community.  From the top of the hanging hardware clip to the bottom handle it measures 26 1/4" in length.  It has a width of 2 1/2 inches.  It has brass metal hardware that has been painted to a flat black at the top with loop for easy hanging and removal and spins freely to make swapping from the leather to linen easier.  The linen and leather are both in excellent condition with no major nicks or cuts.  There was one small cut near the top of the strop that has been sanded and planed smooth.  I have been rubbing this strop by hand daily for the past month; the leather feels wonderful.  The Linen is very high quality and is 2-ply.  Often times lesser quality strops used single ply linen, this beauty has a seamless 2-ply strip of linen that resembles a hose.  Stamped in blue at the top of the linen is "SARGENT Broke In", this linen is very flexible and soft.  Paste has not been applied to this strop, but if you would like to have a thin layer of Chromium Oxide(.5 Micron) paste applied to the underside of the linen, I would be happy to do so at no charge to you.  The original gold stamping no the leather top and bottom handle is still in tact and easily visible, but worn in both areas.  Attached to the back side of the strop is the original paper 44-20 price tag.  It was covered in tape to protect it from further wear, most likely by a previous owner.  This will make a wonderful strop, both for collecting and daily use.   

 It is hard to explain the wonderful feeling of a razor gliding across well prepared high end Scotch leather.  This Valentine & Yule strop is an excellent for both the beginner and seasoned straight razor enthusiast. The heavy leather and 2 1/2" width make this strop very comfortable to strop on.  The leather is excellent quality, very supple, and has a amazingly smooth draw with great feedback.  To be honest, it is one of the smoothest vintage strops I have encountered.  The stropping action is not overly fast like many of the other older model strops. The sound produced when swiping your honed razor across the leather is equally as enjoyable.  From the top of the hanging hardware clip to the bottom handle it measures 25 1/2" in length.  It has a width of 2 1/2 inches.  It has stainless metal hardware that has been lightly polished to a gorgeous satin finish.  It features a clip snap above a loop for easy hanging and removal and spins freely to make swapping from the leather to linen fast and simple.  The linen and leather are both in excellent condition with no nicks or cuts.  I have been rubbing this strop by hand daily for the past month; the leather feels wonderful.  The Linen is very high quality and is 2-ply, imported to Chicago, IL from Belfast.  Often times lesser quality strops used single ply linen, this beauty has a seamless 2-ply strip of linen that resembles a hose.  Stamped in blue at the top of the linen is "GENUINE BELFAST LINEN", this linen is very flexible and soft.  Paste has not been applied to this strop, but if you would like to have a thin layer of Chromium Oxide(.5 Micron) paste applied to the underside of the linen or leather, I would be happy to do so at no charge to you.  The original gold stamping at the leather top and bottom handle is still in tact and perfectly visible, an obviously well cared for strop.  This will, without a doubt, make a wonderful strop, both for collecting and daily use. 

 A SIMPLY STUNNING STROP!!  Russian quality leather has always been at the top of pyramid and Bel-Aro is certainly no exception.  This Bel-Aro Brand #511 strop is an excellent for both the beginner and seasoned straight razor enthusiast. The heavy leather and just over 2 1/2" width make this strop very comfortable to strop on.  The leather is excellent quality, sturdy, and has a amazingly fast draw with good feedback.  This leather has a significant amount of thickness to it, approximately 4mm, which can be seen in photo #8.  This is a fast action strop that is very comfortable to hold with a very tactile feedback.  The sound produced when swiping your honed razor across the leather of a vintage strop is not easily compared to the modern strops.  From the top of the hanging hardware clip to the bottom handle it measures a whopping 27" in length.  It has a width of just over 2 1/2 inches.  It has metal hardware that has been lightly polished to remove any rust that has accumulated over the years.  It features a push clip snap above a loop for easy hanging and removal and spins freely to make swapping from the leather to linen fast and simple.  There is a flat head screw with a nut on the backside for switching the linen sides back in forth; if one desires to past the back side of the linen with chromium oxide. The leather is in very condition with no nicks or cuts, only minor wear on the inside edges.  I have been rubbing this strop by hand daily for the past month; the leather feels wonderful.  There is some light splitting of the leather that does not affect the stropping action.  The back side of the leather has a cross hatched pattern making it an excellent option for applying the paste as well.  The Linen is in Mint condition and obviously very high quality 2-ply linen also made by Bel-Aro.  The linen looks to have never been used. The linen is single ply tightly woven linen that has been infused with paraffin wax to ensure that it keeps its shape and very sturdy form.  Stamped in beautiful blue silver at the top of the linen is "HOOT MON SILK FINISH", and depicting an owl on a branch.  Although sturdy, this linen is still very pliable and will break in wonderfully.  Clearly stamped at the bottom of the linen is the Bel-Aro trademark bell shaped logo and the text NUMBER 100 .  Paste has not been applied to either side of the linen or back side of the leather.  However, if you would like to have a thin layer of Chromium Oxide(.5 Micron) paste applied to the underside of the linen or leather, I would be happy to do so at no charge to you.  The original gold stamping at the leather top and bottom handle is still in tact and perfectly visible.  Also stamped at the bottom of the leather is the same Bel-Aro TradeMark Logo and #511.  This will, without a doubt, make a wonderful strop, both for collecting and daily use.
