How It Works

 ATTEN HUT, Sergent _____ Reporting for Duty, SIR!  This stunning historical Gillette Khaki set is a real beauty.  The razor is in excellent condition considering it is nearly 100 years old.  This military set was issued to officers and soldiers and most likely was taken on tour by one of these brave men.  The razor has been completely cleaned, polished, and sterilized in an autoclave machine prior to being plated in nickel and lastly in rhodium.  All of the teeth are in tact and perfectly straight.  As with most of the Gillette Old Type Safety Razors there is a very small hairline crack at the top of the handle about 3mm in length.  This very small crack does not affect the integrity of this razor and it still screws together perfectly to hold a blade nice and snug.  Stamped on the base plate is the serial number N970087, dating this razor to 1921. This fully functional and shave ready razor would look amazing in any collection and make an excellent gift for a soldier or retired vet, as well as an excellent addition to any shaving enthusiasts collection.

The shaving brush is equally rare and was made by the highly collectible vintage company Erskine and has been re-knotted with a very high quality 21mm 3-Band 'Pure' Badger hair knot.  This beautiful celluloid handle brush is in Mint condition with no cracks.  It pairs nicely with the army green Gillette Khaki case and is even older then the razor set.  When restoring this brush I drilled down an extra 5mm for a total of 15mm to give this brush some extra backbone.  This brush has a loft of 50mm.  There are NO CRACKS and the inside of the brush has been drilled out hollow and filled with a high polymer resin, making it much more sturdy then it originally was.  The stunning brush will bloom beautifully after the first lather is performed.  
Not only does this gorgeous piece of shaving history come with the razor and brush, but also included is the original Case, Blade Bank, and two NOS vintage Double Edge Blades for display.  Both the razor and blade bank have been recently re-plated and neither have been used since completion.  The case is in very good condition with only very light wear to the interior. If only there was a story attached with each vintage razor.  I imagine this case being in a soldiers pocket or nap sack while on tour.  The exterior is in excellent condition and the interior is in very good condition with all straps still in tact and solid.  Even the button snaps on the front is still in tact and fully functional.    The case opens and snaps closed as it did nearly 100 years ago.   The Gillette Lettering and Logo are still completely visible on the inside portion of the lid and is only lightly worn.  The blade bank has a small ding near the top, but still has a beautiful mirror shine and operates as it should.  Do not miss this opportunity to add this stunning and very historical military issue shaving set to your collection or daily shave routine.

 BY GOLLY, WHAT A LOOKER!!  A lot of time and elbow grease went into getting this razor to shine like a mirror. This razor is in like new condition, all the teeth are in tact and perfectly straight. This razor is a wonderful shaver and well regarded throughout the wet shaving community as one of the best 3-piece razors made by Gillette. This razor has not been used since being re-plated.  If you are looking for a great razor that you can pop a blade in directly out of the box and shave with then look no further. This razor has been completely cleaned, polished, and sterilized in an autoclave machine. After this process was finished it was then plated in a bright and shiny rhodium finish.  Stamped on the base plate is the serial number 17567, dating this razor to the 1930s.  This Gillette 'New' is absolutely stunning and a great shaver.  In my opinion, the longer comb is slightly less aggressive then the short comb version, but provides the perfect amount of blade gap to give an irritation free shave.  This razor is a favorite in the wet shaving community and surely deserves its wonderful reputation.  Also included with this razor is the original Gillette case and two NOS(new old stock) Double Edge Razor Blades for display.  This case opens and closes properly and is in excellent condition.  The interior material on the upper portion is still in tact, the Gillette Logo & Lettering is still visible and nearly completely in tact, with a small worn spot.  The bottom interior portion of the case also still has been refinished is a red poplin material similar to that used originally by Gillette.   As expected, there is some light wear to the lower left interior case lid, most likely from where the razor head touched while in the closed position(visible in photo #2). 

 WATCH HER GLINT, GLEAM, & GLISTEN!! That's the first thing that came to mind when this luxurious razor was completed.  What a beauty this gorgeous 1930 Gillette Criterion De Luxe Razor and case are. This amazing piece of well preserved shaving history is a real gem, fully functional, and ready for use.  It now has one brilliant, bright & shiny 18k gold finish.   It was first plated in a nickel base coat and lastly in 18k gold.  I choose 18k because it is closest in color to the finish that Gillette originally used.  The razor is absolutely stunning and in amazing restored condition.  It would be very hard to guess that this razor is 80+ years old.  All of its teeth are in completely in tact and straight.  Typical to this style of razor, there is a small hairline crack at the top portion of the handle(visible in photos #3 4 & 5).  This does not affect its ability to hold a blade and screw perfectly together as it should.  With zero effort, this handle holds a blade snugly and screws tight as it did nearly 100 years ago. Stamped on the base plate of this razor is the serial number 1966D, dating this razor to 1930.  The Gillette Criteroin DeLuxe is most easily recognized by its flat baseplate and small bevel at the end of the inside portion of the handle bottom.  This 3-pc open comb razor is an amazing shaver and one of the most sought after 3-pc razors made by Gillette. The diamond pattern knurling on the handle is truly beautiful.  This is a medium aggressive razor that will make swift work of stubborn whiskers and with its beautiful case and blade bank could easily be the centerpiece of any collection.  

Not only does this set come with this amazing razor, but also included is a leather Gillette case, blade bank, and NOS Vintage Gillette Double Edge Razor Blade for display.  The case itself is also in Excellent condition. The exterior material is still in tact and has only a few minor worn spots.  All interior and exterior materials are original.  The interior lid is still a gorgeous purple color with the Gillette Logo still perfectly visible.  The lower portion of the interior is still original with virtually no wear, which is quite uncommon for this style of case.  The blade bank has also been replated and has very light wear and spotting. 

 A BLAST FROM THE PAST!! That is the first thing that came to mine after completing this gorgeous 1930s Gillette Razor. This version does not have rivet holes in the end caps and is really a wonderful shaver.  This is a medium aggressive razor that will make swift work of stubborn whiskers.  

Not only does this set come with this amazing razor, but also included is its original Gillette Flip Open Case w/ NOS(new old stock) Box of Gillette Blue Blades.  The case itself is also in Good condition. The exterior material is still in tact and shows minor wear, it still opens and closes as it should.  The interior material on the lower portion is still completely in tact, but has some wear in the area where the razor head rests while in the closed position.  On the upper portion of the interior lid are three metal clips that hold the NOS Box of Gillette Blue Blades firmly in place.  The Blades still have the original cellophane wrapper.

 WHOP BAM BOOM!!  Feast your eyes on this newly replated in rhodium 1917 Gillette Single Ring Open Comb 3-pc DE razor with original case & blade banks.  This is one absolutely beautiful vintage safety razor set and in like new condition. It is hard to believe that this set is nearly 100 years old, beautiful to look at, and fully functional.  Clearly stamped on the base plate of this razor is the serial # D962759, dating this razor to 1917.  This amazingly well preserved razor has NO CRACKS in the handle and all teeth in tact and straight.  This razor was first plated in nickle and then plated in a brilliant Rhodium finish.  I chose rhodium because of its high durability, slick feeling, and bright white appearance.  The Single Ring models are a medium aggressive razor, a notch above the Gillette 'New' Short & Long Comb versions.  The handle screws together perfectly to hold a blade nice and snug; sure to bring many amazing shaves to come.  

Not only does this set come with this stunning razor, but also included is the original Case this razor was sold with, both replated Gillette Blade Bank, & two NOS vintage Gillette DE Blades. Both blade banks have been newly replated, but the case still bears its original finish.  This case is in very good condition with light scratching to the exterior and some minor finish loss on the case lid and front button.   The button clasp still operates properly, locking the case as it should. The case has no problems opening and closing exactly as it did nearly 100 years ago.  The interior material is still in tact and also in very good condition. The Gillette Lettering & Logo on the inside lid of the interior is still in tact and perfectly visible  with some light color fading on the inner lid material, which is visible in the photos .  The bottom portion of the case is a beautiful deep purple color with virtually no wear, it is only lightly pressed in where the teeth and handle bottom rest while in the closed position. The piece of material that covers the inside hinge is tattered and mostly worn at the center and end portions.
